Abstract

In situ -generated phosphate in the Fe/BP NS OER electrocatalyst acts as a proton reservoir, decoupling the proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) and transforming the rate-determining step (RDS) from *O to *OOH into the *OOH deprotonation step.
