Asbestos in building and its destruction

Abstract

The concentrations in case of products in good technical state were in the range of <300 to about 500 fibres/m3 (f/m3). In case of damaged products inside the building they were above 1000 f/m3. With the increased destruction of so called “friable materials” with asbestos, fixed internally in the buildings, the exponential dynamic of growth of such dust concentration was observed. With increasing degree of damage to the so-called “non-friable materials” – such as asbestos-cement panels applied externally on the buildings or in the multi-layered walls, the linear, lighter increase in the concentration of asbestos dust was observed.
