Microbes have emerged as a promising frontier in drug discovery, offering a vast and diverse array of bioactive compounds with immense therapeutic potential. This comprehensive review aims to explore the untapped potential of microbes as a rich source of novel drugs, shedding light on their remarkable abilities to produce bioactive metabolites. We delve into the intricate mechanisms by which microbes synthesize and release these compounds, highlighting their unique biosynthetic pathways and the diverse chemical structures they generate.
