Reconfigration of manufacturing facility layout using meta heuristic particle swarm optimization

Abstract
This paper proposed a meta heuristic Particle Swarm Optimization to solve unequal area for optimization problem at unstable demand of market.The paper proposed a reconfiguration of manufacturing facility to ensure optimum Material Handling Cost (MHC) and find flexible routing of parts.First a mathematical model was established with constrained, which used a triangle condition to ensure the integrity of cells.Then the natural inspirations particle swarm algorithms as metaheuristic optimization were applied on case study used for literature used seven machines with three products. The simulation shows good results and flexible flow of parts.The the cost of movements for the part (k) is directly related to the Objective Function Value as it discustred in conclusion.
