Abstract

Functionally graded materials are examined in-depth in this review study, which covers their classification, effect of environmental factors, cost reduction and efficient use, production processes, numerous theories and methodologies for vibration analysis. Classical lamination theory, First and Higher Order Shear Deformation Theories, and Carrera Unified Formulation. Also, numerical techniques such as Navier’s solution, Ritz and Galerkin’s methods are some of the methodologies that are covered. The article highlights the use of power, exponential, and sigmoidal laws to characterize material qualities as it examines the variety of FGM properties. Additionally, it examines the applications of FGMs and suggests possible future studies.
