Abstract
The Palm tree is considered one of the oldest trees known to humans and has been planted since ancient times, and the heavenly religions honored the Palm tree and paid great attention to its cultivation. Palm cultivation in Arab societies is of particular importance, not only as a source of food, but because it is linked to the customs, traditions and social values inherited by many generations. This paper detects Date Palm diseases found in Jordan using convolutional neural networks (CNN). We first investigated the most common Date Palm diseases in Jordan and the datasets were collected accordingly. The initial results of the experiments look promising in helping specialists and farmers detecting diseases in early stages.
