Abstract
Deoxynivalenol (DON), a toxic secondary metabolite produced by fungi, causes not only human and animal health problems, but also huge economic losses to the global food industry. In this work, aptamer-based colloidal gold nanoparticle lateral flow test strips were established to realize the visual detection of DON. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the limit of detection of DON was 24.11 ng/mL and the recoveries for actual detection in corn were from 85.04 to 109.68%. This suggests a potential tool for the detection of DON and a new method for the development of aptamer-based test strips for the detection of other targets.
