Abstract

This research paper investigates the resonant frequency and bandwidth characteristics of a microstrip patch antenna tailored for 5G applications. The study focuses on two key factors that can impact antenna performance, substrate thickness and uniaxial electric anisotropy ratio (AR). Through a comprehensive analysis, we demonstrate that augmenting the substrate thickness and increasing the AR ratio yield notable enhancements in antenna bandwidth. Moreover, fine-tuning the AR ratio is found to amplify the operating frequency without introducing undesirable drawbacks associated with increasing substrate thickness. These findings offer valuable insights into optimizing microstrip patch antennas for 5G applications, paving the way for improved wireless communication systems.
