Abstract
This book chapter explores the use of AR and VR in cultural heritage tourism, enhancing visitor experiences with historical locations and artefacts. AR and VR allow for immersive interactions, enabling visitors to comprehend and appreciate heritage places better. These technologies revive old structures and artefacts, offering personalized experiences and interactive storytelling. However, challenges like cost, hardware limitations, and maintaining authenticity need to be addressed. Future opportunities include wider accessibility, advancements in technology, and collaborations fostering innovation. AR and VR have the potential to revolutionize cultural heritage tourism by transforming visitor interactions and appreciation of historical sites.
