Controlled Human Infection Model — Fast Track to HCV Vaccine?

Abstract
The moratorium on experimentation with chimpanzees has impeded the progress of research on a vaccine against hepatitis C virus. Given the availability of highly effective, direct-acting antiviral therapy for HCV, the authors argue for the use of a controlled human infection model, or CHIM, to accelerate HCV vaccine research.
