Abstract
With the development of urbanization and people's production and living activities, carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions are increasing which will inevitably lead to global climate change and this is called the "greenhouse effect". By using various carbon capture technologies , CO 2 emissions can be reduced. This paper mainly reviews the capture of CO 2 by organic amines (OAs) and carbonic anhydrase bacteria (CAB), and it is expected to be converted into gas-hardened cementitious materials for their application in civil engineering . OAs and CAB can better convert CO 2 to carbonates while reducing CO 2 emissions and increasing the added value of CO 2 that not only reduce the environmental impact but also increase income. The mechanism of capturing CO 2 with OAs and CAB has been analyzed. The CO 2 captured by OAs and CAB can be used in the preparation of carbonates, bricks for building materials , self-repair of cracks in cement-based materials, and dust treatment. Higher enzyme activity can be obtained by loading carbonic anhydrase (CA) or CAB on a specific carrier. The environmental adaptability of CA can also be improved by site-directed mutagenesis.
