Abstract
Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are potentially useful in addressing challenges in food chemistry in light of their tunable pore dimensions and functionalities. Here we demonstrate the adsorption and release of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) by easily attainable microporous MOFs. The effectiveness of the encapsulation and release system has been validated by a fruit preservation test.
