Probing the binding and activation of small molecules by gas-phase transition metal clusters<i>via</i>IR spectroscopy

Abstract

Complexes of transition metal clusters are useful model systems in surface chemistry and catalysis. Their structures can be analyzed in the gas phase by infrared action spectroscopies that detect vibrational excitation by means of mass spectrometry.
