Abstract
This paper is covering an exhaustive review on decoupler control for a Multivariable industrial process highlighting the various decoupling techniques for compensating the interaction between various loops. Existence of undesirable cross couplings makes it complex to establish a suitable multivariable controller. So, a decoupler is employed for obtaining single variable loops from multivariable loops. Various decoupling methods employed in industry have been covered in detail. In industrial process control, MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) system control is a challenging task because of interconnections and cross-couplings among multiple process variables. The implementation of decoupler control techniques has gained a noteworthy attention among researchers. The study features the advantages and drawbacks of various decoupling approaches. It also assesses the challenges associated with implementation of decoupler control viz. modeling uncertainties and measurement noise.
