Recognition of the astronomical images using the Sobel filter

Abstract
We presented the overview and realization of recognition prospects into processing of the astronomical images using the Sobel filter in this research. It was designed for the border selection of the object’s images with the unknown shape against the image background based on the pattern recognition techniques. The Sobel filter parameters are calculated automatically by the results of frame pre-processing and are unique for each frame in series from the “live” (online) data stream. This realization was implemented as a software using the C++ programming language. The implementation was tested on the astronomical images with different resolutions, object shapes, sizes, and patterns.
