Abstract
A copper single-atom catalyst (Cu 1 @C 3 N 5 -1) has been developed for photocatalytic oxidation of biomass-derived furfural and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to obtain maleic anhydride. 1 O 2 and ·O 2 − play a synergetic oxidation role during the reaction.
