Abstract

An electric arc being deployed by a gas tungsten arc welding torch on top of an electron backscattered diffraction map, depicting the transition of the fusion zone to the base material. In the background an optical microscopy image of the same zone is displayed with detail of the base material and the fusion zone on the insets.
