Abstract

The authors study Joule-heating-induced bubble nucleation by analyzing ionic current blockages in a cylindrical nanopore and demonstrate that the periodic homogeneous nucleation transitions into a non-periodic mixture of homo- and heterogeneous nucleation as the pore diameter is increased.
