Abstract
The advance of technology, especially in information and communication technology (ICT), has generated augmented reality, virtual reality, and a combination of both with the support of computers. Augmented reality is a ground-breaking technology that could significantly facilitate the execution of complex operations. The basic idea of augmented reality is to superimpose virtual objects on a picture of the real world, thus improving the picture of the real world that we are now seeing. This chapter gives information about augmented reality and its impact on education, areas of application, and its benefits and challenges in education. The chapter also provides knowledge regarding tools that are used in the classroom and confronts use AR in education. It discusses how augmented reality will be education's future because it enhances and smooths edges for learners and educators.
