Abstract
Upon blue ∼445 nm excitation, two-photon absorption upconversion occurs in Ho 3+ /Gd 3+ co-doping for UVB emission. The UVB-emitting levels of Gd 3+ 6 P j are sensitive to temperature, and can work as fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) thermometry.
