Abstract

In the current review, the application of dolomite powder was investigated for the removal of heavy metal ions because of their wide availability, low-cost, good adsorption. This natural adsorbent possesses tremendous features such as desired uptake capacity, non-toxicity, and compatibility with the environment. The isotherm modeling demonstrated that the Langmuir equation is fitted appropriately with the experimental results, which reveals that the dolomite surface is monolayer and homogeneous. Furthermore, the thermodynamic results implied that the separation procedure with dolomite is accompanied by heat release. Besides, it was attempted to study the adsorption mechanism, cost comparison between dolomite and other adsorbents.
