Abstract

Electric Vehicles are the most widely used alternative to conventional vehicles. The EV charging system is one of the most critical parts in deciding their performance. This article deals with a wireless charging technique for EV batteries. The Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology offers the benefits of adaptability, convenience, safety, and the potential for complete automation. A wireless charging system for electric vehicle batteries using the inductive coupling approach is presented in this article. Inductive coupling is employed for the battery charging application of electric vehicles proposing a unique charging method. The design of WPT includes a rectifier, inverter, DC buck chopper ad transmitter coil, and receiver coil. Due to its great efficiency and ease of maintenance, resonant inductive wireless charging is receiving more attention in WPT methods than other wireless power transfer techniques.
