Abstract

Technology and sustainable development are two intertwined phenomena that can positively transform environment, society, businesses, and the planet as a whole. The Internet of Things (IoT) has been introduced as the next wave of innovation and can facilitate attaining more gains with limited resources. The current emerging paradigm of Internet of Things (IoT) can be harnessed to build an ecosystem that is more efficient, effective and resilient by leveraging linked devices to address the major global concerns that this and future generations will confront. This paper attempts to analyze and document the implied benefits of the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) that would help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by the end of the current decade.
