Abstract

This article explores the crucial role of state regulation and support for the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) in the energy sector. The authors argue that the integration of AI into the energy industry is imperative and provide evidence to support this claim. They also examine the leading countries in AI development and their level of readiness for implementing AI in the energy sector. The article highlights the potential benefits of AI applications in the energy industry, such as enhancing energy efficiency and optimizing energy consumption. Additionally, the authors identify the main areas where AI could be applied in the energy sector, including smart grid management and predictive maintenance. However, the authors also acknowledge the potential risks associated with the adoption of AI in the energy industry, such as cyber-attacks. They emphasize the importance of developing regulations and safeguards to mitigate these risks. The article also explores the EU’s regulatory framework for AI, providing insights into the legal considerations that policymakers should take into account when regulating AI in the energy sector. Overall, this article highlights the importance of government support for the development of AI in the energy sector.
