Abstract

In the modern era dominated by digital communication, security of data is of utmost concern. Modern cryptographic algorithms plays an important role to secure the communication channel. This paper provides an experimental analysis of various contemporary algorithms, aimed at addressing their performance, strength and suitability. Our methodology involves implementing these algorithms and performing various tests to evaluate their strength, efficiency and security. The findings of our analysis provide useful insights into the efficacy and resilience of cryptographic algorithms, which helped in developing a new algorithm. By identifying potential vulnerabilities and opportunities for development, this study adds to the ongoing evolution of cryptographic algorithms. A new algorithm is developed based on substitution and permutation operations. On the basis of experimental results, developed algorithm is better in terms of throughput, efficiency and speed as compared to previously developed algorithms.
