Abstract

The mechanisms underlying an in vivo switch in the resistance phenotype of P. aeruginosa after ceftazidime-avibactam treatment was investigated. The initial isolate (a blood culture) was resistant to meropenem but remained susceptible to antipseudomonal cephalosporins and combinations with β-lactamase inhibitors.
