Comprehensive Analysis of STATCOM with SVC for Power Quality Improvement in Multi Machine Power System

Abstract
Power quality issue is one of the major concern as the load demand is increased with decrease in the coal/Fuel production, thus it is very difficult to maintain the grid synchronization with better power quality. In this paper performance of different shunt compensator is investigated under various power quality issues such as Voltage sag/swell and power distortion in two machine power system. Effectiveness of shunt compensator in proposed two machine system is simulated in MATLAB and result is investigated with different types of power quality issues and then compare the performance analysis of STATCOM with SVC in proposed multimachine system for the improvement of power quality.
