Overview of underwater wireless power transfer based on magnetic coupling

Abstract

Wireless power transfer (WPT) technology provides an effective solution to the problem of power supply for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) working continuously for a long time, and has a good application prospect. In this review, the key issues of AUV WPT technology are discussed, including the modeling of seawater eddy current loss, the design of anti-misalignment system, and the simultaneous wireless power and data transfer. Finally, the possible development trend of this technology is discussed from the above three aspects.
