Internet of Things Traffic Consumption Control System

Abstract
The problem of controlling the consumption of traffic by devices of the Internet of things to prevent threats associated with attacks on devices with the aim of stealing information resources is considered. To control the traffic consumption, an application integrated into the Internet of things device is proposed. The application is an information system with the functions of accounting for traffic consumption, control of consumed resources and forecasting of traffic volumes and consumed resources. The system analyzes several characteristics of traffic received from an IoT device, such as the frequency of packets transmitted over a certain type of protocol, the number of traffic packets for a set time, and others. The traffic characteristics are tested against statistical criteria. Deviations will indicate to the user anomalous occurrences. Thus, the user will be warned about possible attacks on the device and theft of information resources.
