Abstract

The objective of this paper is to design and analyze the performance of elliptical microstrip patch antennas with and without slot operating at 3.5 GHz frequency for 5G applications. Three different designs of compact size, cost-efficient, wide-band microstrip patch antennas using FR-4 substrate with suitable dimensions have been analyzed for the 3.5 GHz wireless 5G band. The proposed antennas have return losses of -41.31 dB, -43.95 dB and -20.44 dB, with bandwidths of 1.13363 GHz, 1.0265 GHz, and 2.1562 GHz at -10 dB return loss. The obtained directivity is 4.577 dBi, 4.906 dBi, and 5 dBi and the obtained gain is 4.45 dBi, 4.36 dBi, and 4.42 dBi.
