Abstract

Blockchain technology, originally designed for cryptocurrencies, has emerged as a gamechanging innovation with broad potential applications. This paper examines how blockchain can enhance data integrity and traceability in Industry Cyber-Physical Systems (ICPS), which are integral to Industry 4.0. ICPS, which integrate computational and physical elements, are vital in managing critical infrastructures like manufacturing, power grids, and transportation networks. However, these systems face significant challenges related to security, privacy, and reliability. Blockchain, with its inherent features of immutability, transparency, and decentralized consensus, offers a promising solution to these challenges by ensuring data reliability and traceability across ICPS, enhancing transaction transparency, and facilitating secure data sharing.
