Abstract
The discussion on the need to change the structure of the use of different energy sources was initiated at the end of the 20th century. Since then, the use of renewable energy sources (wind, hydro, solar, geothermal, and biomass) has increased in Europe. The main reasons for this change were environmental protection and the depletion of fossil energy resources. The use of renewable energy is essential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the EU and to reduce the EU's dependence on fossil fuels and imported energy, i.e., to contribute to the security of energy supply. At the same time, in line with the Green Deal, it is necessary to prioritize the energy efficiency of buildings and improve their energy performance. The above factors affect the construction and real estate market, which can be reflected in the prices of building materials, the construction technologies used, and the differentiation of property prices. This study describes the technologies used to supply new buildings with renewable energy sources and their importance for the sustainability of the construction and real estate market.
