Lipedema in a male patient: report of a rare case – management and review of the literature

Abstract
The etiology and pathophysiology of lipedema remain unclear. However, the case at hand shows that lipedema may, albeit rare, also present in male patients. Moreover, we show that liposuction is efficient and safe in treating lipedema even in atypical cases.
