Abstract
• Dalbergia Odorifera heartwood extract demonstrated noteworthy anti-MRSA activity. • Volatile and non-volatile chemical compositions of extract from different organs of D. Odorifera was systematically identified. • Antibacterial mechanisms were explored by transcriptomic analysis. • D. Odorifera induced adverse effects on RNA synthesis and transcription, and protein translation and involved in inhibiting two-component systems and auxiliary gene regulatory quorum sensing systems. • MD simulation studies were performed to comprehend the binding interactions.
