Abstract
Businesses are being enticed to go towards implementation of smart manufacturing practices by the realization of industry 4.0 (I4.0). The present chapter uses systematic literature review to find out dimensions for smart manufacturing. The review followed the Petersen guidelines for conducting the research. The studies were selected from various databases, including ScienceDirect, Wiley, and ACM. The findings revealed that there were eight dimensions of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 which includes technology, people, processes, products, and services. Some critical dimensions include Technology (92.31%), organizational strategy (46.15%), processes (41.54%) etc. Also, authors have conducted bibliometric analysis for future research directions. Notable the directions have been given based on rigorous analysis of 184 selected studies from Web of Science database. The work presented in the chapter can be used as a roadmap for organizations to identify and prioritize the dimensions of smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0 for successful implementation.
