Abstract

Abstract Herein, we have delineated an NHC‐catalyzed transformation to access dibenzo‐fused seven‐membered heterocyclic compounds via intramolecular Stetter reaction under ambient conditions. A range of dibenzo[ b,f ]oxepine and dibenzo[ b,f ]thiepine derivatives have been generated in very good to excellent yields. The 1,4‐dicarbonyl functionality of a representative derivative has undergone further heterocyclization via Paal‐Knorr reaction.
