Abstract

The sulfur - rich activated carbon (g-SFCSs) derived from coconut husk is used for detection of Hg 2+ ions. The presence of sulfur groups results in remarkable absorbance quenching of g-SFCSs on the addition of different concentrations of Hg 2+ ions.
