Abstract
The poor intrinsic catalytic activity of g-C 3 N 4 towards electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) was overcome by sulphur doping and NiV LDH compositing. A comprehensive account of enhanced HER through the Volmer–Heyrovský mechanism is provided.
