Abstract

In computer networking, ARP (ADDRESS RESOLUTION PROTOCOL) is used widely to translate IP address to its corresponding MAC address. In the case of no malicious user, it works quite decently. But as soon as an attacker comes into play, it links its MAC address to the given IP address, thus, making it susceptible to a spoofing attack called ARP Spoofing Attacks. This paper first gives an overview of ARP and its working. Then discusses ARP Spoofing and its various attacks. Finally, provides the comparison of different detection and mitigation techniques along with their pros and cons to control ARP attacks. In this paper, 11 journals have been included.
