Abstract
The incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into building design ushers in a transformative era within the field of architecture, empowering architects to explore imaginative and sustainable solutions. AI-driven design processes, notably generative design, amplify architects' creative capabilities by generating an array of design alternatives based on predetermined parameters and constraints. This collaborative synergy between human architects and AI systems enhances the exploration of design potentials while preserving the architect's agency and intuition. The integration of AI algorithms in building design also leads to heightened design process efficiency by automating tasks such as floor plan generation, layout optimization, and energy simulations. The infusion of AI into Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms streamlines workflows and enhances architects' decision-making prowess. Nevertheless, the successful deployment of AI in architecture necessitates careful consideration of ethical and societal implications, alongside the upholding of the human-centered design process. As AI-facilitated building design evolves, architects' creative expertise remains essential in ensuring design outcomes aligned with societal values. In conclusion, AI-assisted building design holds vast potential for transforming the architectural landscape, offering heightened creativity, efficiency, and sustainability, while requiring a balanced integration approach.
