Abstract

The term pH-responsive polymer refers to a polymer with basic residues or ionizable acidic residues, which has the characteristics of high sensitivity and controllable operation. pH-responsive polymers are applied to different fields by self-assembling into various nanostructures, such as pH-responsive microcapsules, pH-responsive hydrogels, pH-responsive colorimetric nanothin films, and pH-responsive hydrophilic and hydrophobic conversion, which provide new ideas for the study of new nanostructures. This review presents reports on the synthesis of pH response polymers in recent years, including the medical field of controlled release systems, biological sensing, food monitoring, nanoadsorption applications, for nanotechnology, material science, biomedical technology, and colloid research applications, and provides possible methods and reference for performance reference.
