Abstract

A promising DUV birefringent material, RbB<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>F<sub>2</sub>, presents novel [B<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>F<sub>2</sub>]<sup>−</sup> chains formed by the unprecedented [B<sub>3</sub>O<sub>5</sub>F<sub>2</sub>]<sup>3−</sup> fundamental building block.
