Abstract
This letter proposes a search-free algorithm based on ESPRIT for angle and range estimation in monostatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar with frequency diverse array (FDA). In this algorithm, the angle is estimated by the ESPRIT algorithm, and the range is calculated by the least-squares principle. Thus, it is suited for FDA-MIMO radar works in linear and nonlinear frequency increments. Besides, the improved algorithm has better range estimation performance than the traditional ESPRIT algorithm. Simulation results prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
