Abstract

Industry 4.0 is emerging as a significant enabler of productivity improvement and waste disposal. In addition, many organizations have deployed fully or partially the Lean Management practices, which also aims to improve quality and productivity. Although these two methods use very different approaches, they have a common set of principles. This study aims to identify research papers describing synergies between Lean Management tools and Industry 4.0 applications in companies to ensure process improvement. The originality in this work lies in the in-depth examination of the relationship between 38 tools Lean and 15 Industry 4.0 technologies, which a few authors have briefly discussed. The purpose of this article is to present a case study on the application of the Lean Management tools with Industry 4.0 technology solutions in the company of SAREL Schneider electric. This study shows that the combination of lean management tools and Industry 4.0 helps reduce operational complexity and improve productivity
