Abstract

Abstract This research paper aims at providing a comprehensive analysis of the effect of the addition of waste tire rubber to asphalt mix and its properties. Having reviewed several published research papers, it is concluded that the addition of waste tire rubber to asphalt mix increases the softening point, viscosity, flow, void mineral aggregate (VMA), and Marshall stability. On the other hand, it reduces the penetration, ductility, specific gravity, flash point, and retained stability. It is stated also that the addition of waste tire rubber to asphalt mix is a safe way of managing huge amounts of waste tires generated around the world in a high-value reuse.
