Abstract
Rhenapyridinium complexes are synthesized from the reaction of ReCl 3 (PMePh 2 ) 3 with o -ethynyl benzonitriles. These fused metallaaromatics contain both Hückel π-aromatic metallapyridinium rings and σ-aromatic rhenacyclopropene units.
