Abstract

The enhanced energy efficiency of a distribution network requires accurate and fast decision-making algorithms to make decisions under varying operating conditions. In recent years renewable energy sources are extensively added in the distribution network. These sources cause creation of numerous issues like voltage limit violation, feeder power loss, and reduced power factor. To address above issues, this manuscript proposes the intelligent DE optimization algorithm. First, The base parameters of hybrid (Solar / Wind) distribution network are obtained using ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Programme. Subsequently, DE algorithm is implemented in MATLAB under the purview of constraints as bus voltage, active power, reactive power, conductor ampacity, and transformer tappings. The optimum parameters are validated on the real-time distribution network. The parameters obtained from DE gives best operating characteristics of the network, mainly improved voltage profile, good power factor, and power loss reduction.
