Abstract

Chat GPT has exploded onto the world and is causing chaos in academia. People are already predicting the end of the assigned essay and mass unemployment as the machines take over writing everything. There is concern that cheating will be widespread and difficult or impossible to detect and that learning will suffer as students convince themselves that they do not need to work. In this article, we aim to provide a concise and accurate overview of ChatGPT. We will discuss its capabilities and limitations, methods for detecting cheating through AI, and potential applications in reducing workload, improving writing skills for students, facilitating exam writing and grading, and enhancing the quality of research papers.
