Abstract
SiO 2 @Au@TiO 2 core–shell catalysts present excellent activity, selectivity and stability in the base-free oxidation of furfural, showing a hundredfold catalytic activity increase with respect to conventional SiO 2 @TiO 2 @Au supported catalysts.
