Abstract

The establishment of a large number of mining and metallurgical industry enterprises in the Arctic macroregion has resulted in considerable pollution of the living environment in settlements located in the area. The analysis of the environmental quality in settlements affected the most in terms of ecology revealed an apparent lack of data on the pollution levels, which impedes an assessment of the public health risk dynamics. The problem of residual health risk remains unresolved due to a high level of soil contamination, which is a secondary source of the ambient air pollution.
